How a Resume Rescue Resume Rewrite Works

The Resume Rescue’s resume rewrite process is fairly simple, but superbly effective and efficient. I recently went through a round of rewrites with The Resume Rescue to give you a first-hand look at the process and how the customer is prioritized through every step of the journey.

Resume Rewrites: Initial Steps

Like with all services provided by The Resume Rescue, the first steps start with an opening consultation. This is set up through Angela’s Calendly schedule, where I set up an initial 15 minute call to make sure our goals are aligned. This conversation will cover the basics of both parties: I shared my goals, both career and eventual use of the resume. Meanwhile, Angela covered The Resume Rescue’s process, scope of work, payment options, the process of reviewing and rewriting a resume, and other details. Once we came to an agreement on the various aspects, we set up an additional time to actually review the resume.

The Rewriting Step

This second step is arguably the most important. After an initial consultation with Angela and the scheduling of the resume session, she will turn the resume over to one of her expert resume writers. The resume consultation session is also a simple process: while on the call, as the resume writer reviewed my resume, she asked a handful of questions about my employment history, education, skills, and goals. Overall, the process was seamless. The goal of The Resume Rescue is to give its customers the best possible resume available. With that resume in hand, I can apply to any job I choose and know it is the best resume I could get. The Resume Rescue does not provide resume – it offers peace of mind.

Final Resume Rewriting Steps

After the rewrite, the team took my resume and spruced it up. This may include a reformatting, the cutting of older content, or the addition of information. More information can be gleaned from the resume session and extra materials, like job postings. Whatever work the resume writers do is discussed in detail in the resume session call. The end result of the resume should never be a surprise.

The Resume Rescue also offers a complimentary round of edits the customer can make via Markup. I took advantage of this perk to clarify an comment or two as well as a preference on layout. Within a day, the resume writers had a new version of the resume back to me. All told, this process takes about a week. Once completed, The Resume Rescue sent me a new Word document of my resume.

Throughout the process, my involvement was limited. I shared my resume as well as a few open jobs I would potentially be interested in applying for. Beyond that, the only work I did was answering a few questions about my employment, skills, and education. If a resume is relatively updated, the process will go more smoothly. However, a resume from three jobs ago can still work. The Resume Rescue’s team will get you settled.
